Ron has extensive commercial executive experience from a senior procurement and supply chain career on both buy- and sell-sides. He worked for and with a large number of organisations, clients and bodies in the private and public sectors in the UK, North America and Asia. In the latter part of this career, as a consultancy lead he specialised in organisation design with process and performance improvements, and third party risk management. Ron now has a mix of NED/trustee roles and is chair of two UK charities, Tempo Time Credits – strengthening capabilities of local and national voluntary organisations in their communities and enabling a more diverse range of volunteers across the UK – and World at Play – using sport and play to enrich the lives of marginalised and refugee children in the UK, Europe and Africa.

Jo Darbyshire joined LPP in April 2019 where she is responsible for leading the business to continue to drive a programme of building a strong and sector-leading pension administration offering which focuses and delivers on increased operational efficiency for clients, tailored and effective member communications, robust risk and data management. Jo brings a wealth of experience in the life and pensions sector. She held several senior roles at the Co-operative Group including Head of Co-operative Life Planning and Head of Commercial and Strategy. Jo currently holds a Non-Executive Trustee and Director position at the Leasehold Knowledge Partnership.

Mike is an experienced CEO, CFO and non-executive director (NED) with interests in public finance, housing, pensions and investments. He is now focussed on a portfolio of NED and advisory roles. Alongside his role at LPPA, he is also a board member of Public Sector Audit Appointments and a NED and Senior Advisor UK for XTP, a specialist consultant supporting asset owners on transparency, cost, and risk. Mike was previously the CEO and a board member of London CIV Ltd, which he joined in March 2019. London CIV is the pension pool for the London boroughs and the City of London. Prior to that, he spent over 15 years as a local government finance and corporate services director, having spent 13 years at the London Borough of Camden and, more latterly, undertaking interim finance director roles at Birmingham City Council and the London Borough of Newham. Mike is a former President of the Society of London Treasurers and a former Chair of the London Finance Advisory Committee. He is also a former NED and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the London Pensions Fund Authority and was also previously an Associate Director for Local Government for the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.

Liz has over 20 years’ experience in FTSE 100 organisations in the financial services and global technology sector, where she held senior executive positions in a wide range of functions including human resources, sales, marketing, strategy and commercial product management. Liz has a degree in management studies and an MBA, she is also a chartered marketeer. Liz is a non-executive director for the Pension Protection Fund and Anglo Saxons Friendly Society and was a non-executive director for Places for People Group, one of the UK’s largest placemaking and regeneration companies until January 2021. Liz is an executive coach and founder at Reconnect Business Coaching, she volunteers as a trustee for a local charity and as junior cricket coach.

Chris joined the LPP Group in 2016 as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI). He was appointed Chief Executive of LPPI and LPP Group in 2019 and is responsible for direct leadership of the LPPI business as well as providing oversight of LPPA, LPP’s pension administration subsidiary. Beginning his career as an investment risk manager, Chris is a chartered alternative investment analyst and has over 20 years’ experience in managing a variety of investment portfolios and businesses as both a direct investor and as an allocator of capital. Chris holds a number of non-executive roles including positions within the renewables and project finance sectors, the Transition Pathway Initiative and the Church of England Pensions Board Investment Committee. He also sits on the GLIL Infrastructure LLP Supervisory Board and Investment Committee.

Chair of the LPPA Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee

Richard has 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry, including 10 years as CEO of a leading third party pensions administrator, and most recently as strategy director of a listed pensions group. He started his career in management consultancy, followed by working as a policy official in HM Treasury. He has a degree in psychology and philosophy, and an MBA. For many years, Richard chaired the charity Pilotlight, supporting the development of skills and business capabilities in charities that help the disadvantaged, and now chairs two charities in the arts sector. He is also a non-executive director of a retail start up in London, and of a sound technology business in the Netherlands.
